Misuse of MetaQuotes' Name, Trademarks and Copyrighted Material
MetaQuotes occasionally becomes aware of:
- fraudulent websites containing our trademarks and copyrighted materials without authorization;
- fraudulent domains that are registered in bad faith and are using our protected trademarks within the domain;
- instant messaging chat groups (e.g. WhatsApp, Telegram, WeChat);
- fraudulent trading platforms illegally misrepresenting themselves as MetaTrader 4 (MT4) or MetaTrader 5 (MT5).
Such activities may mislead the public into believing that these entities, services, platforms, or communications are affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to MetaQuotes or its employees. MetaQuotes is not in any way associated with these fraudulent and illegal schemes.
Fraudulent Websites
Certain websites unlawfully reproduce MetaQuotes’ trademarks, logos, software images, documentation, copyrighted content, and branding materials in an attempt to appear legitimate. These websites may falsely claim to represent MetaQuotes, or that they are authorized by MetaQuotes to provide the official MetaTrader platforms, or offer unauthorized investment and trading opportunities. Additionally, they may claim to be representatives of MetaQuotes and may offer you various legal or financial services.
MetaQuotes is a software development company which licenses its trading platforms as a standalone solution to brokerage companies. MetaQuotes is not a registered broker, dealer, financial advisor, or investment advisor in any jurisdiction, including the United States, and does not provide any financial, investment, brokerage or trading services or advise.
In cases of a website that provides financial, investment or brokerage services, users should exercise caution and verify that any website claiming association with MetaQuotes or MetaTrader platforms is officially authorized by MetaQuotes. For any investment-related queries done through MetaTrader platforms, traders should contact their brokers directly through the brokers' official contact details.
Fraudulent Domains
Some websites may have domain names that include or imitate our protected trademarks, such as "MetaTrader," "MetaTrader 5," "MT4," "MT5," "MQL5," or "MetaQuotes," without permission. Such domains may be used for phishing, impersonation, fraudulent investment schemes, or the distribution of misleading information and services.
The registration and use of such domains, including domains using MetaQuotes’ trademarks or similar domains falsely claiming to represent MetaQuotes, are unauthorized and carried out in bad faith in order to make such websites and domains appear legitimate and affiliated with MetaQuotes or the MetaTrader platforms.
Additionally, these domains are falsely being used for email communications to contact users and inform them to invest or to help them "recover their lost investments". Always be cautious and do not respond to such emails, provide any personal details, complete any forms, make payments or transfer any funds to fraudsters purporting to be from MetaQuotes.
Messaging and Social Media Groups
Fraudulent individuals and organizations may operate groups or channels on messaging and social media platforms, including WhatsApp, Telegram, WeChat, Discord, Facebook, Instagram, Tinder and others, falsely claiming to represent MetaQuotes.
These groups may promote fake investment opportunities, unauthorized brokerage services, or fraudulent trading schemes. MetaQuotes does not provide investment management, account management, or direct financial services through such channels. Always exercise caution regarding whom you communicate with online and when encountering offers promising easy income or quick profits. Be cautious with the so-called ‘pig butchering’ online investment scams.
Fraudulent Trading Platforms
MetaQuotes occasionally becomes aware of trading platforms designed to imitate the appearance, branding, or user interface of MetaTrader 4 (MT4) and MetaTrader 5 (MT5). These platforms may falsely present themselves as genuine MetaTrader products despite having no affiliation with MetaQuotes. MetaQuotes does not authorize, operate, endorse, or support such platforms.
Such fraudulent platforms may expose users to financial loss, unauthorized access to personal information, or other security risks. Our official trading platforms can be downloaded from our official websites, official application stores, or from official brokers’ websites licensed to use the MetaTrader platforms.
